THERAPIES
Tai received her massage license from the Maui School of Therapeutic Massage in 2015 and has been offering her wide range of massage services at Om Maui Studio ever since.

Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage is designed to relieve severe tension in the muscles and the connective tissue. This type of massage focuses on the muscles located below the surface of the top muscles. Deep tissue massage is used to treat particular musculoskeletal disorders and complaints as it employs a dedicated set of techniques and strokes to achieve a measure of relief. When used therapeutically, this style of massage is applied to both the superficial and deep layers of muscles, fascia, and other anatomical structures.
Prenatal Massage
Pregnancy places strong demands on a woman’s body and offers a time for the body to be nurtured and pampered. This massage not only relieves the tensions and aches caused by the extra weight and shift in the center of gravity in the body, but it reduces swelling, soothes the nervous system, acts as a tonic to reduce fatigue and enhance energy.

Sports Massage
This specific form of massage is typically used before, during, and after athletic events to prepare the athlete for peak performance. The aim is to drain away fatigue, relieve swelling, reduce muscle tension, promote flexibility and prevent injuries. Depending on the needs of the athlete, a variety of techniques are used including classic relaxation strokes, cross-fiber friction, pressure-point work, and joint mobilization to promote full athletic ability.
Neuromuscular Therapy
Neuromuscular Therapy is used for recovery from acute and chronic pain syndromes that utilize specific massage therapies, including the pressure of trigger points to eliminate the causes of pain patterns. This approach provides balance between the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system. Neuromuscular therapy enhances the joint function, muscular mobility, and releases endorphins, which are the body’s own natural pain killers.

Lymphatic Drainage Massage

What is lymphatic drainage?
Your lymphatic system is part of your body’s immune system. It helps eliminate waste and fight infection. A healthy, active lymphatic system uses the natural movements of smooth muscle tissue to do this. However, surgery or other damage can cause fluids to build up in your lymph system and your lymph nodes, a condition known as lymphedema. If you’ve ever had a surgery on or involving your lymph nodes, your doctor may have suggested lymphatic drainage massage.
How Lymphatic Drainage Massage Works
LDM uses specialized massage strokes applied at a precise speed, pressure and rhythm to mimic the actions of your lymphatic system, improving lymph flow throughout. Using very light pressure, LDM encourages the lymph vessels to contract more frequently, allowing interstitial fluid to enter the lymphatic system. The lymph fluids are propelled through the vessels through a wave of contractions, eventually ending in the lymph nodes where it is filtered and purified. With an increase of lymph flow the immune function is increased and harmful substances are removed from tissues and neutralized, making LDM not only a very relaxing experience, but very effective.
